Wenchao Ding

Wenchao Ding is the chief scientist and co-founder of Tashi Zhihang (它石智航), the embodied-intelligence startup formally established in February 2025 alongside former Baidu autonomous-driving head Zhenyu Li, Yilun Chen, and others . He came out of Huawei's "Genius Youth" program, where he led the end-to-end decision network for Huawei's smart-driving stack from scratch, and is a researcher at Fudan University's Robotics Institute, where he built the university's first humanoid robot . In his chief-scientist role he's been the public voice of Tashi's data strategy — announcing the WIYH embodied multimodal dataset, which he described as the industry's first large-scale real-world collection of vision, language, touch, and action data across industries and tasks . His bet, in his own words, is that "the future of embodied intelligence is rooted in high-quality data" .
