Shize Biotech (士泽生物) is a Chinese biopharmaceutical company founded in 2021 by CEO and CSO Dr. Xiang Li, a Peking University cell biology PhD and University of Wisconsin–Madison postdoc who spent over a decade in stem cell research at top labs and industry leaders abroad before returning to China full-time . The company develops clinical-grade, allogeneic, "off-the-shelf" iPSC-derived cell therapies for central nervous system diseases, with a primary focus on Parkinson's disease and other major unmet neurological conditions .

As of April 2026, Shize has secured seven approved clinical trial applications from both China's NMPA and the U.S. FDA, with multiple pipeline candidates in active Sino-American registrational trials . The company has raised successive financing rounds for five consecutive years, including a B/B+ and C1 round totaling 400 million yuan announced in early 2026, with FreeS Fund—its original angel lead—continuing to follow on alongside Sequoia China, Qiming Venture Partners, Lilly Asia Ventures, and newer investors such as 3SBio and China Reform Fund . It has also twice won the top prize in China's National Disruptive Technology Innovation Competition .
