Flexiv

Flexiv (非夕科技) is a general-purpose intelligent robotics company founded in 2016 by Shiquan Wang and a team of Stanford robotics and AI lab alumni . The company specializes in adaptive robots that integrate industrial-grade force control, computer vision, and AI to perform dexterous manipulation in unstructured environments .

Its core product line centers on the Rizon series of adaptive robotic arms, first unveiled in 2019, which the company positions as "third-generation robotics" — moving beyond traditional position-controlled and collaborative robots to systems with human-like tactile sensitivity and task-planning capability . Flexiv has since expanded to heavier-load models and built what it calls a "general-purpose intelligent base platform" enabling cross-industry deployment .

The company has raised multiple rounds from a mix of venture and strategic investors. Gaorong Ventures led its earliest funding in 2017 and has reinvested through subsequent rounds ; ZhenFund joined at the A round in 2017 and has continued backing the company . Its 2020 Series B of over $100 million was then the largest single round in the general robotics sector globally, with participants including Meituan, YF Capital, and others . In March 2026, Flexiv closed a new round led by Invus with Atma Capital and other investors .

Flexiv has also incubated Noematrix (穹彻智能), an embodied intelligence startup founded in 2023 focused on developing and applying embodied AI technology . Cewu Lu, a Changjiang Scholar distinguished professor and 2023 Xplorer Prize winner, serves as Flexiv's chief AI scientist .
