Mindverse

Mindverse (心洲科技, also known as 心识宇宙) is a Chinese AI startup building continuously learning agent models, founded by Tao Fangbo in 2019 and later joined by co-founders Andrew Chen and Chen Kaijie . The company has evolved from its early positioning as an "AI character generation engine" to focus on what it calls Personal Intelligence—using LoRA to give each user their own personalized large model rather than relying on a single general-purpose system .

The team of roughly 20-30 core researchers comes from DeepSeek, OpenAI, ByteDance Seed, xAI, MIT, Tsinghua's Yao Class, and Duke, with over 100-200 cumulative top-tier AI conference papers . Mindverse claims to be one of only two teams globally—alongside OpenAI former CTO Mira Murati's Thinking Machines Lab—to have achieved trillion-parameter LoRA reinforcement learning at scale .

Its consumer product Macaron AI, launched in August 2025, has surpassed 5 million users overseas and hosts over 300,000 user-created mini-apps, with the company running 28 distinct LoRA models tailored to user types as of early 2026 . The firm has raised multiple rounds including a ~$50 million Series A led by Meituan in June 2026, with ZhenFund, Linear Capital, Ant Group, and Sequoia China among its backers .
