Oasis is a metaverse social platform founded in 2018, positioned as a global virtual-world ecosystem rather than a conventional content platform. Per a 5Y Capital piece from March 2022, it had at that point reached over 100 million monthly active users with more than 2 million monthly additions, topping app-store social charts in Brazil, the US, and the Philippines . Its distinguishing pitch, in founder Yin Sang's words, is a decentralized economic system where "every user is simultaneously producer, consumer, and governor" — a deliberate departure from creator-to-consumer models like Rec Room . The same 5Y Capital report notes that Oasis raised a "tens of millions of dollars" Series B led by 5Y Capital, Oasis Capital, and BAI Capital, with earlier backers including ZhiChun Capital, Xianfeng K2VC, and QingHan Fund . A VR version was in parallel development as of early 2022 .

Notably, "Oasis" is also the brand name used by Oasis Capital (绿洲资本), a separate venture firm founded by Zhang Jinjian — the two share naming but are distinct entities .
