Axera (爱芯元智) is a Chinese edge AI chip company founded in May 2019, building AI perception and edge computing chips for intelligent vehicles and edge computing markets. Per Qiming Venture Partners, the company pursues a "general technology and customized chips" strategy on self-developed cores like its AXProton AI-ISP and AXNeutron NPU, with dozens of chip types already mass-produced . It ranked among the top 5 global visual edge AI inference chip suppliers by 2024 shipments (and first in the mid-to-high-end segment with 24.1% share), became China's second-largest domestic intelligent assisted-driving chip supplier, and had shipped nearly 1 million vehicle chips cumulatively by end-2025 . On February 10, 2026, Axera listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (00600.HK) at HK$28.2 per share, a market cap of HK$16.58 billion — Qiming led its pre-A round in early 2020 and held over 6% pre-IPO as its second-largest institutional investor .
